Aetuts+ is a site made to house and showcase some of the best After Effects tutorials around. We publish tutorials that not only produce great effects, but explain them in a friendly, approachable manner. We also stock up links to tutorials, articles, presets and plugins from around the web to help you get the most out of After Effects.

117. Understanding Linear Workflow
This tutorial is an introduction to using linear workflow within After Effects in order to achieve more photo-realistic composites. This is a prerequisite tut to pave the way for one we'll be posting soon on how to work with RED footage within AE.

118. A Delightful Swirl Of Audio
Next time you find yourself traveling through time... you can only hope the soundtrack is more like this. In this tutorial we will learn how to use Trapcode Form's AudioReact to create a very cool scene that reacts to the music. See you on the other side!

119. The Birth Of A Logo – Day 1
There was an explosion of characters and thus the Logo was born. In this tutorial we'll be using some of the new options of Trapcode Particular 2 as well as some techniques with Trapcode Form to create an epic depiction of the first logo in history.

120. The Birth Of A Logo – Day 2

121. Basic Match Moving with PFhoe – Day 1
You may know how to Bust a Move, but the real question is can you Match a Move? In Day 1 of this two part tutorial we're gonna start by looking over the interface of PFhoe and explain how to get a basic Match Move. From there we'll bring the camera solve into AE to see what we can do with it. Day 2 we'll head over into Illustrator and 3ds Max to generate an extruded logo and finally bring it all back into AE for the final composite.

122. Basic Match Moving with PFhoe – Day 2
You may know how to Bust a Move, but the real question is can you Match a Move? In Day 1 of this two part tutorial we looked over the interface of PFhoe and explained how to get a basic Match Move. Now in this second part we'll head into Illustrator and 3ds Max to generate an extruded logo and finally bring it all back into AE for the final composite.

123. This Logo Will Self Destruct In 5 Seconds
In this tutorial we will be creating a really cool title effect suitable for epic title sequences. The tutorial will explain the steps in order to create a Time Trail effect, and then disintegrate the title to transition out.

124. Send A Happy 2010 New Year Card
In this holiday season, it's always fun to send cards to each other, well in this tutorial we are going to make a lovely animated New Year card that you can post on Facebook and tag all your friends in or whatever else you might wanna do. Enjoy and we'll see ya next year!

125. Create A Glowing Red Hot Hand
I think we can all admit that part of the reason we got into After Effects was to live out our inner fantasy of being a mutant or super hero of some sort. Guilty. Be careful as you watch this quick tutorial, you don't wanna get caught Red Handed... Somebody had to say it...

126. Maya into After Effects Workflow
We've had a few tutorials in working with 3ds Max and AE, and even more with C4D, but there have been lots of requests for help in working between Maya and AE. In this tutorial we will be creating a 3D billboard in Maya, then bringing it over to AE for the design application

127. Create A Heart Monitor With Expressions
You may think you love After Effects... but how can you really tell until you've created a heart monitor that proves the passion is alive and well?! You can't... I'm sorry, it's the only way. Jorrit will show some handy expressions within Particular that should help you with any number of projects.

128. Learn How To Composite A Zombie-Like Tear Of Blood
There are so many projects where we blow up a Zombie head or have blood splatter against the wall after we shoot one. I think we’ve missed something important though. Zombies are… were people too. We need to be sensitive to what they’re feeling. Don’t just say, “Wipe those bloody tears off your face!” Hurting Zombies hurt people.

129. Create a Rockin’ Automated Slideshow
We've all been faced with this dilemma... You return from vacation with 2000 photos and dread having to edit them, especially since every photo is a prized capture that the world HAS to see. This is where the Turbo Slideshow comes in. With the aid of a couple of scripts, you can have all 2000 synced to music in a matter of minutes... and speaking of a matter of minutes... that is all it will take to see all the photos! It's a win win situation for everyone.

130. Freeze Your Logo With A Snowy Transition
Even though we're past the Christmas season, many still have snow on the ground. Well this little effect would be a perfect opener for any "winter-themed" project. I understand that life can be tough because you can't please everybody... but! you can freeze every logo! And we're gonna show you how.

131. Photoshop 3D Into After Effects Workflow – Day 1
One of the coolest features of late that Adobe has included is the ability to open 3D models within Photoshop and After Effects. In this tutorial Brian will use the example of a mock coffee shop promo to show some of the basics techniques you can use. I hope the coffee is fresh though, otherwise that's grounds to not watch the tut... grounds... coffee... yeah.

132. Photoshop 3D Into After Effects Workflow – Day 2
One of the coolest features of late that Adobe has included is the ability to open 3D models within Photoshop and After Effects. In this tutorial Brian will use the example of a mock coffee shop promo to show some of the basics techniques you can use. I hope the coffee is fresh though, otherwise that's grounds to not watch the tut... grounds... coffee... yeah.

133. Basic Footage Coloring And Object Removal
We spend so much time trying to make footage look old... but what if your footage already is old? I guess you'd have to color it then, right? That, and take junk out. So here's a basic tut to walk through how it can be done.

134. Happy Valentines Day from AEtuts+!… we love you!
This tutorial is for beginners. I'm noticing that some people enjoy seeing motion graphics/broadcast animation tutorials so here it goes. This end result certainly isn't and Oscar-winner, but it does show a number of things that everyone should know. This could be a way to create simple, yet functional screen-cast opener for example... We'll start in Photoshop (perhaps Illustrator would be better, but since I don't have it yet, I used Photoshop) and then dive in AE till the end of the tut. I worked hard doing this and preparing all the stuff so I hope you enjoy it. Let's get started!

135. Get Blown Away With An Explosive Corridor Blast
BOOM !!!... seriously guys, blowing things up is the only reason why you all are watching these sites, right? =D Anyway, in this beginner to advanced tutorial I want to give you a good start to create...well...chaos and destruction, muharr harr...just kidding, have fun guys! =D

136. Simulate A Glowing Neon Light Sign Of Your Logo
I know we all have busy schedules with lots of things to do during the day.... and ya know, that's the very reason we stay open late here on AEtuts+! Ok, it's a website so that doesn't really work, but if we had a store front we would stay open late just for you... you and the date you brought who doesn't think it's gonna work out.... sorry, they told me not to tell you... hmm... awkward... Here's how to create an "Open Late" sign yourself.

137. Grow A Grassy Field With Particular
As an After Effects user, you'll know that finding time just get outside and enjoy a beautiful day isn't always an easy thing to do. The answer could be to get up more and walk outside every once in a while... but when even something that simple isn't an option, you may just want to have this project file handy so you can dream of what life is like on the outside.

138. How To Create A Surreal Outer Space Nebula
You don't need to be an astronaut to enjoy a breathtaking celestial scene... you can create one yourself! They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Well I don't know who "the beholder" is and why his eyes are so gorgeous, but I think this effect is quite lovely as well. Enjoy!

139. Use Color To Control Your Textures
The government may have control of your money, your boss may have control of your schedule, and you're kids may even have control of what you're doing this weekend... but alas, there is one thing you will not forfeit! You will never give up control of your textures!... that is, unless color wants control... then you have to hand it over, sorry.

140. Set Up A Night Club Rave Scene
Who cares if you weren’t invited to the party… you can make your own in AE! Seriously though, If you need to create a quick dance party to show your client the fun they could be having if they hired you… use this tutorial to show them.

141. Leap Into Hancock-Style Super Jump Effect
You may have to get up and stretch out a little before starting this tutorial. It’s got some pretty ground breaking techniques and covers quite a lot leaving very little up in the air. In honor of this being a leap year and all, here you go… jump in.
Similar to Andrew Kramer’s tutorial, this one shows how to use a Difference Matte to roto out an actor and then composite various HD elements in front AND behind an actor to make the ground smashing effect seen in movies such as Hancock and games such as Crackdown.
